What does allyship and accompliceship look like in the year 2026 when the queer community is under fire? That’s the question we posed to a half dozen queer folks in our community. And these incredible individuals provided answers.
In 1969, a law required private foundations to distribute 5% of their hoard. This means that a foundation hoarding $1 million only has to pay out a max of $50k. Most foundations do this – the absolute minimum – regardless of the condition of the world and how much funding is actually needed.
This year, I don’t want to see a single “ally” say “love is love,” or “love wins,” or “all you need is love,” or any other trite, pointless, platitude. (I never want to see these, but especially not this year.)
Pinkwashing has become even more despicable and insidious because an ethnostate is using it to justify the genocide of Palestinians. And every member of the 2TLGBIQA+ community must band together to say unequivocally, Not in our name!
