On July 24, data expert and evaluator Anna Rebecca Lopez presented some findings from a survey of more than 2000 nonprofit professionals sent out last year. Anna Rebecca shared the information on a webinar of more than 700 folx in the sector.
You can watch a recording of the event below as well as read the discussion that happened in the webinar chat box and view Anna Rebecca’s presentation deck from the webinar.
1. Surprse Finding: Percpetion of BIPOC and White fundraiser are not that different, we are on the same team
2. Then you say: Most / Many BIPOC fundraisers are not happy.
Therefore, white fundraisers are also not happy?
Just wondering what that surprising finding is all about. The people eating the crumbs are having the same perception as the people eating the loaf?
My suggestion is to advocate a change of the typical funding formula to fund the greater budget orgs at a lower percentage of their operating budget and smaller orgs at a higher percentage of the operating budget. Evaluations need to include crowdsourced data from community and peer recommendations. Less reliant on panels or consultants. Peer recommendations should be rewarded so that non-profits learn from each other but compete for higher impact (or the perception of higher impact among peers) at the same time.
